Kate Middleton Dress Two After The Royal Wedding!
For Kate Middleton’s second dress of the day, she chose a white satin gazar number, also by designer Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen.
While the reception dress was strapless, Kate paired it with a gorgeous, cropped angora sweater, adding demure before heading over to the evening party at Buckingham Palace.
The Queen and Prince Philip handed over the Buckingham Palace for the disco themed celebration, which was hosted by William’s father Prince Charles.
Like Kate’s wedding dress, the reception gown was cinched at the waist showing off her slim figure. While Kate’s wedding dress flowed into lace, her reception dress had the added touch of diamante embroidery and flowed into a circle skirt made for twirling the night away!
For the reception, Prince William changed as well, donning his red wedding attire for a black tuxedo.
Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, also traded in her royal bridesmaids dress for the second half of the celebration, changing into a long emerald green sleeveless dress by designer Alice Temperley. The dress, stunning in color and for, was complimented further with a jeweled embellishment on the front and a plunging neckline.
The flattering gown had some critics wondering Pippa Middleton stole the show from her sister as Pippa’s popularity on the social media circuit immediately sky rocketed!
“I was honored that Ms. Pippa Middleton asked me to design her dress for the Royal Wedding evening reception,” Temperley said Friday. “Pippa was a delight to work with and knows exactly what she likes. She loved the green color, which looks great on her skin tone. The dress was designed especially for her with a fantastic open back and a full skirt for dancing in.”
Pippa’s choice in Alice Temperley seemed especially fitting since the Queen royally appointed the designer. Temperley was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to the fashion industry in March 2011.

Following a more American wedding tradition, Kate chose her sister, Philippa Charlotte Middleton, 27, to be her maid of honor. Traditionally, Brits give the role of bridesmaids to much younger girls and don’t have a “maid of honor” but instead a “chief bridesmaid.”
Rumors have been circulating that after Kate officially joins the royal family, her sister will assume the role of Kate’s lady-in-waiting. This job would consist of traveling with Kate as she performs her royal duties and press tours.
Other Royal Celebrations:
ABC News contributor Duncan Larcombe reported in the Sun that Michael Middleton and his wife, Carole Middleton, spent $41,000 to host a barbecue at London’s Goring Hotel for family and friends who were invited to their daughter’s wedding ceremony but not to the evening royal reception at Buckingham Palace.
Although Kate Middleton and her family have often been called commoners for their lack of royal blood, they are by no means “common.” The Middletons run a very successful party business out of their home in the village of Bucklebury, outside London.
Nevertheless, it was believed they did not meet Queen Elizabeth and the rest of their daughter’s future in-laws until last week.
